Hearing Dates

Please disregard instructions on the forms telling you to obtain a hearing date to fill in on the forms before filing your motion. The Clerk will contact the FOC to obtain a hearing date and this information will be filled in on your forms after your motion is filed.

Filing Fees

Current filing fees for all Circuit Court actions can be found at: Circuit Court Fee and Assessments Table.

Please be aware that the filing fee to start a civil action increased by $25 effective 3/1/16. Be prepared to pay that increased filing fee at the start of your case (it is only charged once, at the start of your case).

Ex Parte Motions & Orders

Please note that ex parte orders are for emergency situations only and have very specific legal requirements that must be met to be granted. If you need an ex parte order, you may want to review information on Michigan Legal Help’s Website, located HERE, or contact an attorney.  If you are objecting to an ex parte order that was entered in your case, you may use the FOC 61 Objection Form found HERE.

FOC Welcome Packet

Starting in November of 2025, parties will be given a Welcome Packet containing information about the FOC at their initial hearing at the start of a newly filed domestic relations case. If, for some reason, you were not able to attend or did not have an initial hearing (i.e. you and the other party entered into a consent agreement before any initial hearing), you can access the Welcome Packet HERE.
